The Jeet Kune Do Kali Association was founded as a semi-private group in 1997 and officially went public in 2005.  Co-founded by Sifu/Guro Tim McFatridge and Cory Smith in order to bring together the various organizations and people involved in Filipino Martial Arts and the art and philosophy of Bruce Lee, Jeet Kune Do, and associated arts.  The Jeet Kune Do Kali Association does not exist to be the authoritive source for these arts, rather as a conduit to share ideas among like minded individuals practicing these arts.  Everyone currently in a leadership role within the Association are also a active members (or previously members) of various organizations that do serve as authoritive sources, such as the Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Grappling Association, Thai Boxing Association of the U.S.A. to just name a few.  As Jeet Kune Do is ever evolving, so does the Jeet Kune Do Kali Association; it's members constantly exploring new methods of training in order to become the best martial artist each individual can become.

As the basic premise of Jeet Kune Do is self-expression, the JKDKA so to embraces this idea and allows it's members to exist autononimously yet offers a consistant curriculum and testing procedure for rank advancement within the association (which is entirely optional and free).  This allows for all members a way of guaging skill sets across member schools and allow for categorization for the purpose of various competetive events.  However, this curriculum is constantly evolving as well as new members bring new ideas and methods that are explored, adopted, adapted and incorporated.

It is our hope that as more members come on board that the Jeet Kune Do Kali Association will be one of the main sources for information regarding Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts; in addition to organizations such as the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts (Dan Inosanto) and the Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Grappling Association (Larry Hartsell).

Membership is open to all individuals of all styles that are interested in exploring the various arts practiced by the Jeet Kune Do Kali Association.

Membership fees exist to help support this website and promote activities such as training camps, seminars and competative events.

This website exists to facilitate a communications mechanism to promote and educate regarding the Jeet Kune Do Kali Association and the arts, artists and cultures associated with Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts (Kali, Eskrima/Escrima, Arnis and Silat).
