There's a few things we would like to bring to the forefront of everyones mind regarding this website.
1. Please use your real name when creating your account login. There are some forums and communities out there that allow for more of an anonymous interaction; but we would like to make it clear that is not the intent of this site. Our goal is to build a strong community of martial artists; those that may be experts in their respective areas, those that may just be starting on their first day and everyone else in between.
2. Please update your profile. It might be a little difficult to find this, so to help you out just click on your name at the top of the page. This will allow other members to get to know you a little better.
3. Please add your school to this thread in the forums. Again, we are trying to build a strong community. This includes helping individuals find a place to train locally and your school (or the school you attend) might just be the place for them.
4. There are several membership levels. However, there is sort of two seperate types of membership. The first being "forum" membership which means you are able to participate in the public forums. The second type of membership is being an active member of the Jeet Kune Do Kali Association. Just signing up for site access does not automatically mean you are a member of the JKDKA. You can see who is an active member in the forums by looking under their name in the left hand area and if they have a "flag" that shows their membership level. For more information, you can use the "Membership" link found on the home page.
Also, it is possible that Bronze and Silver memberships could be awarded for extremely active (and helpful) forum members. We are actively monitoring for this activity, so be productive in the forums and it just might be you that is selected. In addition to this award, you could recieve the Jeet Kune Do Kali Association Forums MVP award recognition.
5. If you have access to a members only area (Bronze or higher), please don't share the content with other individuals. It's alright to discuss such content in the public forums, especially in regards to pointing people to the existance of said material. If they don't have direct access to it, see point #4. Members who violate this trust could have their membership privilages suspended.
Understand that we don't necessarily like having to spell out some of these; however, we believe that access to this site is no different than entering into a physical school. As such, the same level of respect should be awarded to all other individuals participating.
