This past weekend was phenomenal! It was literally a once in a lifetime event in the fact that it had been nearly 10 years since many of the LAMECO S.O.G. (Silute Original Group) guys in attendance had last seen one another. As for the non-SOG in attendance, the event was a special treat. Everyone in attendance checked their egos at the door and it was as if it was one huge gathering of family and friends.
When we weren't training, we were conversing... everyone either catching up or getting to know one another. As for the training, it was excellent! Each session (by a different SOG member) was informative on its own. However, the sessions tied nicely together; as if everyone got together to decide what they would presented upon. I found out later that it was done completely freeform and just adds to the phenomenon that was Edgar Silute; his students knowledge of the art is so strong that their transitioning that knowledge flowed perfectly to those in attendance.
I'd like to publically thank all of the SOG guys for attending, those that instructed and, most especially, Roger Agbulos for coordinating the event. I, for one, can't wait for this event to take place next year!
