Whats up Tracy...good thread Cory. Sorry I have not been on here...but as you know I have been moving into our new house...man I never knew I had so much stuff. Looks like we will be having a very big garage sale. OK enough about that.
Lets talk trapping while grappling. Yes...I agree with you Tracy. Most wrestlers, grapplers and boxers do perform traps with out any previous training in trapping BUT...they also pass up alot of "easy" traps. Basically everything you can do standing you can do on the ground. Not just with trapping but with your boxing head movement. You can slip a punch, you can parry a punch and you can catch a punch ( I do not mean catch with your face either). Trapping is the same way, if you are on bottom and have someone in your gaurd most of us know that you can insert your hand( if his are on your chest) trap it to your chest, pull it cross centerline, throw your leg over his head/shoulder for a really good and tight armbar. There are too many things you can do to list them all here. Also Herman was great to train with. He would always stress that you should use your feet and legs just like you hands and arm. While I am talking about Herman...let me just say that he showed me the most effective way to pass some ones guard...and Tracy I think you have felt that first hand as well. I am still not walking straight and my voice is still a little higher than it use to be. Alright I have to get off here and get ready to fly out to see Larry this weekend with Cory. Talk to you guys later.
