  • Re: 2006 JKDKA Training Camp

Tim and Cory,   I just want to thank you guys for a wonderful training. It was hard to believe that this was the first time you all put one on. The scope of the material we covered was complete and covered all ranges of fighting including weapons. The level of expertise among the instructors, and their teaching ability was impressive. I ...

Hey guys...just wanted to jump in here and give a big thank you to all of those that showed up and trained with us and helped make our first training camp a success. • Re: Silat Anyone?

Salam to all, I'm new to this site I teach Garciano Arnis ''Kilat Serrada'' in the Philippines.  It is the Garciano Clan's fighting art from Camotes Island, Cebu. It is similar to the older Sri-Vishayan Bela Diri Silat styles with animal styles, bone breaking, and Ground Fighting. I like your web-site and have always been a fan ...

It is talking about the history of Cipecut and how it came about. It goes into the weapons of Cipecut and how that is the whip art of Indonesia. Let me know what you think about it.

Cipecut Silat Sarong: The Whip of Mande Muda By Mike Young   The exotic system of cipecut silat is rarely found outside of its Indonesia birthplace. Developed in the early 1970s in the Cikalong village, the techniques of this art were refined to an exact science throughout the years. Originally, Cipecut silat sarong was confined to ...

  • Re: Silat Anyone?

Robert, I think that is true most arts. Before I started my Jun Fan/ JKD/ FMA training I had trained in Tae Kwon Do, American Karate, and Boxing. I liked Boxing the best but I was still missing something. When I first started training in Jun Fan/FMA and saw the foot work they used and how they moved through the ranges I fell in love with the art. ...

  • Re: Silat Anyone?

Silat, I find this art takes some time in it before the individual begins to appreciate what it brings to the table as a martial art. There is an old saying that goes,''silat chooses you,you don't choose silat'', I find this to be so very true.In my time I have seen many a folks jump into the Mande Muda style, but the demands of the ...
